Dahlicious Dress Up Day!
On Friday 30th September, our school was taken over by Big Friendly Giants, Oompa-Loompas and
Twits. It was all in aid of the first ever 'Dahlicious Dress Up Day'. The children all contributed £1 in order to raise money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
(A very special thank you must also go to the very generous couple who donated £20 when they passed the school gates!)
ShelterBox
We were visited by members of the Rotary Club who delivered a very inspiring talk to the whole school all about ShelterBox. A ShelterBox is designed to provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. We all got to have a good look in the boxes and we were amazed at what supplies were inside them. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. We hope to raise money in the future to support this fantastic lifesaving scheme.
