This term our topic is.....
WE ARE NOT AMUSED!
To launch our new topic, both children and staff arrived at school dressed in traditional Victorian costume.
The children were in for a bit of a shock when they entered school as they were greeted not with their usual learning environments but with a more traditional Victorian learning environment.
The children spent the morning being taught how children their age would have been taught in the Victorian Era....it is safe to say learning back then was not as much fun as it is now a days!

The whole school came together to see how hard it would be to build Bridges like Brunel. The children shared skills and worked together in teams to create some amazing bridges from art straws and newspaper.
The longest reigning monarch, Queen Victoria has been at the centre of our investigations. The children have explored the Royal family tree and delved into the history of this world famous family. The children enjoyed exploring the highs and lows the Royals have experienced.
Our creative skills were put to the test when we had to work in pairs to create a Royal Portrait of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their 9 children.
